Speaking at a, luncheon given by the Federation of British Industries he gave an assurance that no foolish action would he taken by Australia on the Commonwealth Wool Committee’s report advising a pegged exchange and price control. The Government would not be a party to any wild .schemes for creating ah artificial position and excessive prices which would eventually react on Australia. Mr Bruce also emphasised that the Australian tariff policy was solely due to financial and not fiscal considerations and to the necessity for meeting external obligations.
