MONEY OBTAINED AT HAWERA ARREST OF TWO MEN In the? New Plymouth Police Court yesterday Chas.. Robinson wa.s charged with conspiracy to 'defraud Bernard Alexander Wan of a sum of £5 at Hawera. on July 4, 1931. Detective Meikiejohn applied for a remand and stated that after the commission of the offence This- man and another had been interviewed, but they had since gone off to Australia, The other man had not come hack. The accused said he had made two trips‘to Australia since then. The -remand was granted until Saturday, November 26; and in response to accused’s application bail was fixed in his own recognisance, of £IOO and one surety of a, iike sum or two of £SO each. Another man named James Logie lias been arrested at Nelson on. a 'similar charge of conspiring to defraud i Wan of a sum of £SO at Hawera- on [ the same date. It is expected he will . be remanded from Nelson to New Ply--1 mouth.
