GALA DAY ARRANGEMENTS. Arrangements in connection with the Gala Day to be held in the grounds of the Hawera Main School on Wedesday next commencing at- 2 p.m. are well in hand. A comprehensive programme of events has been arranged by the teaching staff and will include drills and rhythmic dancing by the children similar to those which captivated public opinion at the fete helcl last year. Two or three innovations this-year will bo competitions for decorated dolls’ prams for little girls decorated tricycles for little hoys and a pot race. The last named event promises to be so popular that it is anticiated it will be necessary to arrange for heats. , ~ Numerous stalls, where delect a Dies of all kinds will be on sale, are. to be erected in the grounds and contributions of jams, pickles, garden produce, seedlings, in fact anything saleable are solicited.
