TURUTURU TENNIS CLUB
COURTS OFFICIALLY OPENED. YANKEE TOURNAMENT GAMES. The ncwlv-formed Turuturu Tennis Club nflieiallv opened its courts at the Turuturu school this afternoon, when there was an attendance of between 60 and 70 members and friends-. A small hand of workers had achieved excellent results during the past lew weeks and many compliments weie ieocived on the neat appearance of the grounds and Tlnee courts were prepared in readiness for the opening of the season and it was) nientined that work would he com-j menced shortly on a fourth court. Promptly at 2 o’clock the president, Mr A. Gillon, welcomed the visitors and expressed the hope that all would spend an eniovab-le afternoon. Manynew members had been enrolled and there was every prospect of a- most successful season. ' The first ball was served bv Mrs M. Walsdorf (vice-president) and Mr Gillon declared tlie courts open for play. A Yankee tournament was conducted, an interval being called for afternoon tea served by members of the committee under the direction of Mesdames T. J. Allan and "Walsdorf.
