COLLISION IN CHANNEL

NORWEGIAN SHIP SINKS. WHITE STAR LINER DAMAGED. (British Official Wireless ) RUGBY, OctL 10. A collision occurred in the English Channel yesterday between the White Star liner Afric Star, bound from London to Buenos Aires, and the Norwegian steamer Charente (1327 tons), from Bordeaux to Oslo. The Charente’s crew and three passengers, including a woman and a baby, were taken aboard the Afric Star, which kept its bow locked in the Norwegian ship. Afterwards the Charente sank and the Afric Star returned to Jjondon, where it was found the bows had been damaged.
