LEVEL CROSSING SMASH
DRIVER’S RIBS BROKEN. (Bv O.legraph—Press Association.) STRATFORD, Sept. 2. A car driven by W. Harris, a stock inspector, was struck by the early train from Hawera this morning at the Romeo Street crossing. The vehicle was smashed to matchwood and Harris sustained three broken ribs and shock. He was removed to a private hospital and is progressing favourably.
