LANCASHIRE COTTON STRIKE

FURTHER MILLS CLOSED. SOME PARTS NOT AFFECTED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 31. There was an extension of the strike in the manufacturing section of the cotton -industry yesterday. The extensions occurred chiefly in northeastern Lancashire, in which area mills in ten towns around Burnley closed. In the area to the south of. Burnley and the north of Oldham the stoppage is still incomplete, while mills further south, in the Manchester area-, have not been affected so far.
