COURSING AT WHENUAKURA
PATEA-HAWERA CLUB. HIGH STANDARD' OF WORK. Despite the cold weather conditions yesterday there was a very good attendance of visitors for the opening day of . the coursing meeting at Whenuakura organised by the Patea-Hawera Club. There were good entries, totalling 34 in all, and the running of the dogs was the subject of favourable comment. The general arrangements, under the control of the president (Mr. L. Hunt) and honorary secretary (Mr. T. J. Scott) ensured good progress throughout the day. Mr. F. McKenna was judge and Mi\ C. Sheahan slipper. Two rounds of the Black and White Cup event were run and one for the V.C. trophy and the rest will be run to-day. Yesterday’s results were as follow: BLACK AND WHITE CUP. First Round. Dainty Somme beat Kaitere. Kaharoa beat Tiki. Nukumai beat Parvo. Sporting Pal beat Paphian’s Best. The Thief beat Swagger Mick. All Gay beat Lady Andy. Hamilton Moth beat Supplejack. Second Round.
