PAY IN SHEARING SHEDS
EMPLOYERS SEEK CUT
OBJECTIONS BY UNION.

WELLINGTON, July 27. A reduction of the rates of pay for shearers and shed hands was sought by representatives of the ‘New Zealand Sheepowriers’ Federation at a conference with representtaives of the New Zealand Workers’ Union to-day. The latter objected to any wage reductions, holding the view that the rates of pay operating in 1931 should' continue for the coming shearing season. No agreement was reached and the matter was -referred to the Conciliation Council.
