HAWERA MUNICIPAL BAND

SECOND MONTHLY SOCIAL

The second monthly social evening on behalf of the Hawera Municipal Band was held on Thursday night and was a complete success, the Scouts Hall being crowded. The first part of the evening was occupied with a programme in which the following took part: Mrs. Gannaway, Mrs. Howells, Mr. Rushton. (songs); Miss Doris Gilmore and Miss Eileen Kelson (monologues) ; Mr. Rupert George (violin and banjo solos); Messrs. Fox, Gould, Milroy and Rowe (instrumental quartette) ; selection, Guy’s Orchestra. The accompanists were (Mrs George and Miss Rodgers. Supper was served by tbe ladies under the supervision of Mrs. C. Pearce, dancing then being enjoyed to music by Guy’s orchestra, with extras by Mr Laurent, aocordeon . At the conclusion Mr Fox expressed hearty thanks to all who helped and | said ‘he felt sure the isociails were going to- grow in popularity and tn come more successful every month.
