The Canadian High Commissioner has issued a statement that rumours in London respecting the financial stability of the Sun Life Assurance of Canada are without foundation and malicious. . . This follows a series of alarming rumours in the city regarding important companies, depressing the stock exchange quotations. Some newspapers assert that there is a deliberate campaign for exploiting pessimism as the outcome of the serious European situation.
