The death of Mr. Robert Thelwall, an -ed 93, has occurred, states a Press Association message from Gisborne. He was a well known veteran bowler. He arrived in New Zealand in 1865 and settled in tlie Gisborne district, takmgc part in the military operations against Te Ivooti. Miss I. M. Corry, member of the English Ladies’ Alpine Club, who is spending some months in New Zealand and has been staying with Mrs. W Hardwicke-Smith at Mangamingi, passed through Hawera to-day on her wav to the Hawke’s Bay district.
