SYDNEY, May 27. Hie Stevens-Bruxner Government has published figures of the State’s finances ior the nine months of the present financial year. They reveal that the expenditure exceeded the revenue by £9 704,704. The .revenue amounted to ’,112,330 and' the expenditure to £20,817,034. Mr Stevens at Mudgee, announcing the policy of the united parties in respect to urgent rural .problems, promised the Government would 00-operate with other Governments of Australia in a scheme for an increase of the oversea exchange rate by means of which prices received in Australia for wool, meat and butter would be enhanced by £3,000,000 this* year.

FOUR ROYAL COMMISSIONS

SUGGESTIONS OF CORRUPTION SYDNEY, May 26. It was announced to-day that four Royal Commission's were being appointed forthwith to inquire into matters during the Lang regime, and covering the following subjects :—• Whether there was corruption in granting tin hare licenses. Whether there w’as corruption in restoring permits for the use of fruit machines in hotel bars. Whether the Government was justified in appointing Mr C. J. Goode Chief Transport Commissioner in view of the fact that he was discharged from the Railway Department after the. investigation of certain, charges preferred against him.

REOAiLL OF GOVERNOR MOTION IN COMMONS Received 11.20 a.m. to-day. LONDON, May 26. Mr J. Max ton and four other Independent Labour members of the House of Commons have tabled a motion demanding the recall of Sir Philip Game on the ground that his action in deposing the popularly elected Government of New South Wales was contrary to the public interest and an affront to the democracies of Britain and Australia.

The Privy Council will give judgment in the New South 'Wales Upper House case on Tuesday morning.
