WINTER SCHOOL
FOR FARMERS’ SONS. The great need of the day is some means- whereby farmers’ sons in particular can acquire a knowledge of the most up-to-date methods of agricultuio during the off months of the year (says the "Waikato Times"). Realising this, a number of progressives in the dairy- industry have brought about the formation of an association for the promotion of a winter farm school. It was the backing and active support of the A. and P. and Pig Recording Associations and in order to meet the times, the cost has been reduced to a minimum. The course will be under the direction of Dr. Arnett, who will have the assistance of officers of the Department of Agriculture as well as of Mr. C. M. Ilume, supervisor of herd-testing, and Mr. Pierson, pig recording officer. It is expected that lecturers will be given by Mr. A. 11. Cockayne, Mr. Bruce Levy-, Mr. Fawcett and others. The course, which is principally for farmers’ sons and herd-testing officers, will commence on June 2, concluding on June 11.
