CHAPLIN IN JAPAN
POPULAR AT TOKIO. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) TOKIO, May 14. Charlie Chaplin was accorded a tremendous reception at the Tokio station. Despite the greatest precautions for the control of the crowds and the mobilisation of hundreds of police the people overwhelmed both the station and the hotel and disorderly scenes were created by those who were determined to see the comedian.
