CAMP FOR MOUNTEDS

X EXT WEEK AT WAVER LEY. Beginning next Monday, the Queen Alexandria’s (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles will go into canrp at Waverley racecourse for a week’s training. Men will be in camp from all over Taranaki and from Wanganui to Rallotu, Tikorangi and Lepperton. Each man attending the bivouac will provide his own iior.se and rug. but saddlery and grooming kit will be issued by the Defence Department. Rations, bedding and transport will he free, but the trainees will not receive pay for the period in camp. The musketry course of the squadron lias been completed with very satisfactory results. The social side of the camp will not be neglected and dances have been arranged during the period of the bivouac. It is proposed to hold a sports meeting on the Saturday of the week of training.
