CAR OVER BANK
MOTHER. AND DAUGHTER HURT.
LANDS IN CREEK.
MASTERTON, April 3. As a result of a motor car in which they were passengers dropping over a bank into a creek, two Masterton residents, Mrs P. Gooding, of South Road, and her adult daughter, were j admitted to hospital to-night. j The driver of the car, Mr Charles Burton, and his small son Maxwell, j who was also a passenger, were un-1 hurt. j The accident occurred at about 7.15 j p.m. in Macara Street, which is only, a partly-formed thoroughfare. A creek ! crosses the road at one end, but Mr Burton was unaware of this. He drove j on and his car mounted the protecting' embankment and dropped about seven feet into the creek. Airs and Miss Gooding were thrown out and were cut by flying glass. They also were suffering severely from shock.—“ Dominion” Service.
