CROQUET.
CAMPBELL CUP GAMES. PARK DEFEAT AVON. A croquet match in the first round of the competition for the Campbell Cuit, a trophy presented by Mrs J. E. Campbell, of Hawera, was played yesterday on the Park (Hawera) lawns between teams representing the King Edward Park and Avon (Stratford) Clubs. The weather was fine and warm and, despite the strong prevailing wind, the afternoon’s sport was enjoyed by all participants. Results were as follow, Avon players being mentioned first: — Mrs Hill and Mrs Jenkins lost to Mr Exloy and Mrs Harding, 20—26. Mrs North and Mrs iMeiCrcndy lost to Mrs Chadwick and Mrs Hey, 24—26. Aggregates.—Avon lost to Park, 4-4—52.
