Mr. Terrell proposed the immediate establishment ol an expert tanil commission in view or the duties competing with industries, and the meeting passed a resolution accordingly.

The council of the Central Associated Chambers of Agriculture passed a resolution demanding that beef, mutton and pork supplied to the forces should eitnev be British or of Empire origin. BUY BRITISH CAMPAIGN. COMMENT IN HOUSE. Received 2.1-5 p.m. to-day. LONDON, Dec. 8. In the House of Commons Mi: J. H. Thomas. Secretary for Dominion Affairs, stated that a huy British campaign had permeated the whole of the United Kingdom, to the advantage of Britain and the Dominions. Mr Nathan: Has it not been a serious factor in the adverse position of the sterling. Mr Thomas : I cannot say.
