Over a hundred people have died from influenza in Perth in the last few days. The outbreak is attributed to a heatwave. The temperature has averaged 97 degrees for five days, the highest being 101. On Monday 21 funerals were conducted at the Karrakatta Cemetery, which is the highest total for any day since the cemetery was opened 32 years ago, the previous record being 19 in 1919, when the influenza epidemic was ■ aging. Yesterday the record went to 29. These figures, are alarming the public.
