RUSSIAN MENACE
SOVIET’S GROWING WEALTH PROGRESS OF FIVE YEAR PLAN THREAT TO TRADING NATIONS (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph, f'-opy right.) LONDON, Dec. 8. The Chamber of Commerce in a report on Russian trade emphasises that the nations must consider their attitude towards Russia, whoso enormous wealth the Soviet Is rapidly materialising. The report says it As impossible to cut Russia out of the community of nations whatever her politics-. The five year plan progresses in production, so that Russia may in a few years be the world’s greatest producer of oil, coal, pig iron, steel, timber, chemicals, grain sugar, furs, cotton and dairy produce. She may be able- to undersell any country if allowed to continue the present export policy. Britain cannot tolerate the existing unequal trade balance, especially when Russia’s payments- for exports to England are used to buy tools from England’s competitors.
