BOXING
PROFESSIONALS AT BLENHEIM. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Dec. 6. Two game boxers, Harry Lister (Greymouth), 11.7-1, and Joe Tierney (Blenheim), 12.10, fought hard for 15 rounds last night. Lister won on a technical knock-out in the final session. It was a willing mill packed with more thrills and action than usually characterise a professional contest. Tierney, who was making his first appearance in cash ranks, made the early fighting but over the concluding rounds Lister had a lead on points. He downed Tierney four times before the end with vicious, clean punches. Tom Oroft, New Zealand amateur middleweight champion, defeated Alec. Dasler (Blenheim) in a good flight.
