LATE MR. HUNTER SHAW
A DISTRICT BENEFACTOR An early settler of the Whenuakura district, the late Mr Hunter Shaw, left the w hole of his estate to charities, and Patea came in ror a liberal share of the bequests. The work of allotment was left in the hands of Mr E. F. Warren, of Auckland, the sole executor. From the estate of nearly £20,000 Patea benefited by almost £IO,OOO.
