RAID IN DAYLIGHT
THEFT FROM JEWELLERS. TWO TRAYS OF DIAMONDS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 2. Leaping from a motor ear in full view of scores of shoppers, two men smashed a jeweller’s window at Carlton and escaped with two trays of diamonds valued at £6OO. Onlookers -were afraid to intercept the robbers, fearing they were armed.
