INDIAN EARTHQUAKE

NEW ZEALAND’S SYMPATHY. The following is a copy of a message which was isent on Wednesday by His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand to the Viceroy of India' in connection with the earthquake disaster in that country: “The Government and people of New Zealand join with me in expressing to Your Excellency our profound sympathy with the inhabitants of the earthquake-stricken area of India who have suffered bereavement, personal injury, and heavy material loss in the recent terrible disaster which has befallen them. We remember with gratitude the sympathy extended to us by the people of India in our own similar Affliction in February last.”
