PRODUCERS’ BANK FAILURE
ACCEPTANCE OF DEPOSITS. CRITICISM IN ASSEMBLY. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) SYDNEY, Sept. 1. In the Legislative Assembly a Labour member, Mr. Stuart Robertson, directed attention to a statement that the Primary Producers’ Bank, which failed Inst week, had accepted deposits from small traders up to 2 p.m. on the day it closed. He described this as a “confidence trick.” Mr. Liunaro, Attorney-General, retied that he would call for a report and see whether action could lie taken.
