The Bill to provide for the reopening of the State Savings Bank has been approved by' the Parliamentary Labour Party and will he introduced in the Assembly' to-day. It was announced to the caucus that the following were expected to accept the Government’s offer ot appointment. as trustees of the bank: Sir Hugh Denison (chairman), Sir Clifton Love, Sir William Vicars and Mr O’Malley Wood. The name of Air F. E. Bryant was given as a likely fifth. Hundreds were unable to gain admission to a meeting of depositors at the Town Hall. The meeting expressed themselves in favour of Commonwealth as opposed to State control of the bank. After forming a depositors' association the meeting broke up ir. mild disorder.
