HA AYER A CLUB TOURNEY. SHIELD GAAIES NEXT WEEK. A 20-guinea shield previously offered for competition liv the Alokoia Settlers’ Association lias been handed to the Hawera Rugby Football Club. In this connect ion the (dull has arranged a seven-a-sidc tourney, open to all Taranaki junior teams, to be played on Wednesday next (June 24) in competition .for the shield, each member of the winning team to receive a gold medal. The tournament will be held on the Showgrounds at Hawera, and the first games will commence at 1 p.m. In view of the fact that the season is now well advanced, play of a high standard should he seen. A dance will be held in the Eeiva tea rooms at. night, when the shield and medals will be presented to tlie winners. A good floor, supper and music are - assured. Further particulars are advertised.
