REMOVAL OF A DOG
EXC'I'ST' TO COURT REJECTED. CONVICTION OF TWO WOMEN. <Bv Telegraph —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Juno 19. Having taken a dog from a private residence at Karori, Mabel Harvey (trading under the name of Miss Christmas) and Martha Stevenson were jointly charged with obtaining £2 from Victor Larcomb by false pretences. Mr. E. Page, S.M., did not accept the story that the dog was taken away from kindness to tench the owner a lesson. He lined Mrs. Harvey £o, convicted the other accused and ordered her to come up for sentence if called within twelve months.
