The Hawera Municipal Band will give a. programme of selections this evening in Higli Street, from 6.45 p.m. A collection will be taken to aid unemployment relief.

At the Haw era Scout Hall yesterday presentations of first and second stars were made to Wolf (Cubs of the Havvera Pack. Those receiving first stars were Cubs [Robin Hollaway and Iven. Archbold, while those receiving second stars were Cubs Don. Archbold and Rlen Prestidge. Kino Cubs also received yearly stars. The presentations were made by Mr F. W. Horner, Commissioner fof South Taranaki, who explained the duties of a Wolf Cub. A going-up ceremony also took place, Blen. Prestidge being transferred from the Cub Pack to the (Scout troop.

In tlie Ohangai Hall on Monday evening at S o’clock a meeting of settlers is to be held to arrange a fitting farewell to Mr and Mrs N. W. Lee and family, who have done much for the community interests of the Ohangai district.
