CANDIDATES FOR CLUTHA
FIVE IN THE FIELD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, June 32. The contest for the Clutlia seatpromises to be one of the most interesting in the electorate's history, says the “Clutlia Leader.” In addition to Mr. F. Waite, the present member, who will carry the Reform banner, and Mr. P. McSkimming, announced as the United Party candidate, three others are mentioned as likely to stand. Mr. Joseph Stephens, who polled well at the 1928 election, will probably bear the Labour standard, while Mr. J. R. Wilson, late chairman of the Clutlia County Council, and Mr. John Christie are also mentioned as candidates, the loimei as an Independent and the latter as an advocate of tlie old Liberal -Ijftboiu policy of Mr. Secklon s time.
