EUCHRE PARTY. (From Our Own Correspondent). The second of the series of euchre parties was held in the hall last Friday evening when there was a large attendance. The winners were -Miss El. McCracken, with 10J games and Master Wilson with 9 games. BASKETBALL. On Saturday morning last the Matapu school basketball team played Manga toki in a friendly match, the former being the winner By 11 goals to 1. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. The monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute evas held last Wednesday evening when there was the usual good attendance. A demonstration was given by Mrs. G. Woods on the covering pf lamp shades. On Thursday a special meeting will lie held to carry out similar work,WEATHER. Last Friday morning one of the heaviest hail storms experienced for some considerable time passed over the district. The hail stones were large and a coating several inches thick lay on the ground for some time.
