FOUR SHOPS DESTROYED. LOSSES AT T AXE ATT! A. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WEAK AT AXE, May 2. A fire at Taneatua al 1.30 a.m. this morning destroyed four shops occupied by G. C. Peebles, general storekeeper; E. M. Bryenton, butcher; McCall, saddler and Mrs Southerland, milliner. The contents of McCall's and -Sutherland’s shops wore removed to safety. The buildings are valued at. over £2OOO and Ihe contents of Peebles’ and Bryenton ’s shops arc estimated to value £2OOO. Bryenton’s stock was not. insured.
