POST-SECTIONAL GAMES
RAIN INTERRUPTS PLAY
In threatening weather the second round of post-sectional play in the South Taranaki howling tournament was commenced at the Hawera Park green this morning, and heavy rain forced an adjournment after six heads had been played in the Mason-Wilson game and five heads in the SquireBourke game. Smith’s rink drew a bye. Against Wilson, Mason had put on 10 points to his opponents’ 1. At the second head Mason scored 5, his other heads reading 0,1, 1,1, 2. Squire had on 5 points to 2 in his match with Bourke, when further play was impossible on account of the rain. Up to the time of going to press no further progress had been made in either game. In section A, eighth round, _ yesterday (Hawera green), Potter’s rink had two wins and six losses (not one and seven as published yesterday).
