STATUE TO RUPERT BROOKE
UNVEILED AT SKYROS. “NOBLE FRIEND OF GREECE.” 1 (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph | Copyright.) LONDON, April 6. “Rupert Brooke, noble friend of Greco, and his immortal poetry,” is the inscription at the base of a nude statue of Brooke unveiled to-day with simple cerebiony at the Island of Skvros in the presence of international writers and poets. Professor LasceUes Abercrombie, professor of English literature at Leeds University, had pre- I viously recited one of Brooke's poems j over the grave.
