RIOT OF STUDENTS

LATE EDITION

MINOR SPANISH REBELLION CLASHES -WITH CIVIL GUAEL

FUST LADE IN STREETS

(United Preaa Association—By Electric Telegraph

Copyright}. Received 3 p.m. to-day. MADRID, March 25. The deadliness of a minor revolution incited by medical students is guageable from the fact that 4000 shots were fired and one student and one civil, guard -were killed. Captain Canas, a police sergeant and 13 students were wounded. Students hoisting posters and red flags, seized streets near the University and stoned .trams. They stopped the traffic amid cheers from workmen, and drove off the police. A student met death at the hands of policemen who fired twice iff his prostrate body after knocking him doivn for brandishing a revolver. The student’s comrades immediately hoisted a black flag and carried the wounded to the operating theatre, whence doctors attending them were disturbed by police rifle fire and fled frepziedly to the streets, clearing the way by 'loosing off revolvers. Three squadrons of civil guards, charging through volleys of bricks and slates, restored order. They arrested a film operator who was enthusiastically recording the scenes and confiscated the film.
