MEREMERE

HARVEST FESTIVAL.

(From Our Own Correspondent). On Sunday the Mere mere Ale thud is t church celebrated tlieir annual Harvest Festival. The Sunday School Hall was artistically decorated and the service was very well attended and the minister Rev. Emmett preached a most inspiring sermon. On Monday evening a concert party came out from Hawera and gave- a very enjoyable entertainment. The children’s items especially were thoroughly appreciated 1 . The- opening item was a pianoforte solo by J. Hey, followed by a solo by Airs. Hartman, a violin solo by Louis Fox, a solo by Aiiss Dix, a sketch by the Bible Class members, a double quartette, a violin duet by Louis and Margaret Fox, solo by Airs. Hartman, a pianoforte solo by J. Hey, a monologue bv Olga Fox, a song by Miss Dix, a' violin solo by Margaret Fox, a. sketch by Bible Class members, a double quartette. After the concert Mr. Budd auctioneered the produce. Mr. (1. AY. Williams, on beha'lf of the Meremere -people, thanked all those who had come out from Hawera to assist in making the Harvest- Festival evening a success. Supper was then served bv the ladies of the district. On Saturday the local tennis team visited 1 ATo-kom and the honours of victory went to Alokoia.
