The New Zealand championship swimming meeting was advanced a further stage this evening when 1500 spectators watched the races at the GonviTle baths. The weather was ideal. The ■outstanding performance of the evening was that of the Aucklander, Miss M. Farquhar, who won the 100 yards backstroke by defeating the titleholder, Miss N.
