The death is reported toy telegram from Napier of Mr A. A. Kennedy, aged 65, a surveyor. Professor R. Lawson, of Dunedin, and Mr A. K. Anderson, of Christchurch, have been elected to fill the vacancies on the University Eintrance Board caused by the resignations of Professor Thompson and Rev. Grooso, representing the Academic Board and registered private and secondary schools. In eaoh ease only one candidate was nominated. —Presss Assn.
The Mayor of Wellington, Mr G. A. Troup, C.M.G., will be the offiical Reform candidate for the Wellington North seat at the next general election. A deputation representing the Wellington divisional executive of the Reform Party waited on Mr Troup last evening, and to the invitation to contest the constituency in tlic Reform interest he replied in the affirmative. Mr F. Mennecr has been appointed to the position of chief accountant to the Public Trust Office. Commencing his career as a cadet in the Customs Department at Christchudch in 1*91'6, Mr Mennecr was transferred on promotion that year to the position of accounts clerk in the head office of the Public Trust Office, Wellington. In 1919 he was appointed assistant chief accountant at Hawera, and in 1921 returned to head office in a similar capacity.
