“I’m poi'isuing for a smoke!’ 1 bus said Major Scott, as he climbed nut of the British Airship I'M 00 immediately after her return flight from Montreal. So saving he pulled a ready-filled pipe from his pocket. and lit up. Yes, most smokers know what it is to “perish for a smoke.” In good times and in bad, when things are going right, and when thev are going wrong there’s nothing like a pipe! Harmful? Tell it to the marines! Beneficial, so long as the baccy ’s right. The imported leaf may be harmful, owing to the quantity, of nicotine it often contains, because nicotine is a deadly as cyanide, although slower in its action. Not so our New Zealand toasted tobacco. The toasting eliminates most of the nicotine in it, so that it is perfectly harmless. And it is unrivalled for flavour and bouquet. There are only four brands: Riverlioad Gold, Cavendish, Navy -Cut No. 3, and Cut Plug No. 10. No others are manufactured. But of course there are imitations!
