The sum of £l3 collected from the children and staff of the Shirley School (Canterbury) for the earthquake relief fund was stolen from the school during the week-end. The money was locked in a cupboard and in the headmaster's office. On Monday morning it was discovered the cupboard door had been forced and the money stolen. The Hawke’s Bay Automobile Association reports, that the Taupe Road from To Pohue to Taupe is closed till further notice. The road from Napier to To Pohue is open, but is in a. poor ■state. The association adds a warning to motorists to drive carefully on all roads in this district. The ’quake last Friday loosened much ground and made many roads dangerous. Mrs. N. TC. Shepherd, who is giving up business and closing down, has given J. C. Smith instructions to sell the whole of the plant of the Savoy tea-rooms, also household furniture and ell'ects contained in lounge and bedrooms, on tlie premises on Wednesday, I February 25, at 11 a.m. The full list I will be advertised in a later issue. j
