The following donations to the Hawera Hospital are acknowledged v ith thanks by the matron (Miss G. Hunter): Mrs Nicholas (South Road), foot stools for women’s convalescent room- H. Vinton (Manaia), vegetables; Ross Hilmer (Eltham), magazines for children’s ward; Airs -Sutton, .Magazines; New Zealand Railway Department,’ books and magazines; Mrs Greenhill, flowers; Egmont Racing'Club, complimentary tickets. “I wish also to thank the Red Cross and all others who so kindly volunteered their services at the hospital i 7 required to meet the j demands of Napier wounded,” adds the I matron. “Old linen or cotten would be gratefully received.”
