At a householders’ meeting at the Tawhiti Seliooi on Friday evening it was unanimously decided to abandon this year’s annual picnic. A fund is to ho opened at the school, into which it is j)reposed to ask that all probable picnic fares should be paid. It was also decided that the whole of the present picnic fund be given towards relief purposes. Shoe-factories under the Soviet Government will, according to plan, produce 120,000,000 pairs of shoes this year, to meet the requirements of a population of 150,000,000. i
