The engineer in charge of the Waitaki hydro-electric works reports the highest, flood for several years, which destroyed the temporary trestle bridges connecting the coffer dam on the Otago bank. The damage is estimated at £4OO. The permanent works are not affected. It is expected that it will be six weeks before Ihi' bridges are restored. The liver flow is estimated at half a million gallons per second.
