A message from St. Paul, Minnesota, states that Assist ant-Postmaster-Gen-era l Glover, in charge Air Mail, while discussing the prompt establishment of a trails-Atlantic air mail, via the southern route from Europe to South Carolina, stated: “We will have an advertisement ready as soon as I get to Washington. We expect at least three bids.” He said he believes the service will become self-sustaining in a short time. “ On this line, in all probability, will come a large volume of English mail for Australia,’’ he added. “An air mail over the Atlantic and the United States will shorten the mail 'time between England and Australia by weeks. There is little question but that Canada will want to handle this mail as much as possible. I believe it. will come through St. Paul to Winnipeg, go to Vancouver, and then by boat to Australia.’’
