LIBRARY NEEDED AT PORIRUA. The radio at Porirua Mental Hospital, installed a.s a result of the appeal made by Mr L. O. Hooker last year, is giving good service to patients and staff and is kept in operation about 10 hours a day. Mr Hooker found, during his visits to the hospital to inspect the completed radio installations that that big institution, which shelters something like 2000 people, possesses no library or any other facilities for providing reading matter for patients and he has undertaken to collect books with the object of providing the nucleus of a library. Mr Hooker lias already received several promises of parcels of books; ho invites anybody willing to donate suitable hooks to this cause to communicate with him, when lie will makei arrangements for their collection.
