ROTTTTT TARANAKI ASSOCIATION

BEST AVERAGE AT OTAKEHO.

During the 30-day period ending January 14 a total of 6975 cows was tested‘by the South Taranaki Herd Testing Association. The average yield of fat was 39.291 b and 8661 b of milk with a 4.532 test. In the previous period 6937 cows were tested. giving an average yield of 41.611 b of fat and 9241 bof milk at 4.501 test. These figures include all B class cows. The highest herd average was recorded by Mr S. J. Greenhill s (Otake. ho) herd of 54 cows, which averaged 47.641 b fat and 9SSIb milk with a 4.8 lest. In the lowest herd 64 cows produced 6S4lb milk and 29.551 b fat at a 4.3 test. The highest individual cow, owned by Messrs Wyllie and Potts, Whakamara, produced 951 bof fat, while the lowest recorded only 511 b. The highest herds were: Over TOO cows: 110 cows, 43.641 b fat, L. R. Hamilton (M. IV, Schwass) ; 50 to TOO cows: 54 cows, 47.041 b fat, S. J. Greenhill; under 50 cows: 40 cows, 47.401 b fat, J. Gcarv (Mr W. Baldwin).
