THEFT OF BOOTS
TWO MEN IMPRISONED
Sent euros of fourteen days’ imprisonment each were imposed on Walter Lowell, aged 31, and Will in Til Johnston, aged 41, in the Magistrate’s Court,, at Palmerston on Thursday, whim they appeared on a charge of theft of a pair of boots, valued at £1 10s.
Senior-Detective Quirkc said that the two accused had visited the shop, and one had stolen tlie boots, which they had later attempted to sell. 'Lovell had a previous conviction. Each of the accused men hail a few shillings when arrested, but the tlieft had been a deliberate and mean one. Lovell stated that he had acted on the impulse of the moment.
