SPLIT WITH LEADER

LABOUR IN SOUTH AFRICA

ALLIANCE WITH NATIONALISTS

SEVER A NC'FV DEM A NDED

(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 2 p.m. to-day. CAPETOWN. Jan. 2. A conference of the Oreswellian Labour Party lias carried a resolution declaring a continuance of the pact between the party and the Nationalists to 'be no longer in the interests of Laibour and calling on the executive to terminate the alliance before next January. The resolution was* carried in the face of a strong speech by Mr Creswell who declared that the termination of the pact before 1934, when the next general election would fall. If the-pre-sent Government lasted for the full term it would be politically dishonest. It i.s not- improbable that Mr Greswell may solve his personal problem by quitting the Labour Party and declaring himself a Nationalist.
