COLONI AL REFINING COMPANY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) SYDNEY, Nov. 28. Giving evidence at the sugar inquiry, Mr. Goldfinch, general manager of the Colonial Sugar Company said that the grass profit last year had been £601,000 from which income tax of 4s 6d ini the pound wasi deducted, amounting to £135,225. The net profit was thus £465,775. The .surplus of sugar financed gratuitously was equivalent to the remission of £'56,000 in interest. Replying to the chairman, witness stated that the dividends absorbed £730,000.
